|  MediLodge of Yale provides skilled nursing care in a variety of single and shared room accommodations. All rooms are air conditioned, with window or door wall access to the outdoors. Every resident is assessed on admission for special needs such as equipment to promote independence, dietary needs and preferences. Physical, occupational, and speech therapists develop customized treatment goals that help each resident maximize his or her potential. Most of the residents that are admitted to our facility are able to return home or back to their assisted living facilities after treatment and rehabilitation.
As an adjunct to skilled therapy, restorative nursing offers services
promote independence via programs such as movement, range of
motion exercises, and restorative dining. In addition, our
therapists provide input to our Activity team to suggest activities
that might help residents improve their functioning without
even realizing that they’re in “treatment.” In this way, rehabilitation doesn’t stop when a resident leaves the therapy room—they
can continue to improve as they enjoy lots of fun and interesting
activities throughout their stay. |

Residents with dementia need a little extra help navigating
the routines of daily life. Predictability, structure, and familiar
faces help ease their confusion and anxiety, making their days
easier and more enjoyable. Our Dementia Unit provides this environment.
In addition, this unit, while not locked, is housed in a closed
door area of the building. With a cozy dining room and a lovely
patio, residents have a comfortable, friendly area that feels
more like home.
Often, residents with obesity find it difficult to locate
a comfortable place to rehabilitate. For those residents with
bariatric issues, we offer specialized beds, chairs, wheelchairs,
and shower facilities. |

The services listed below are available to residents via outside providers. To receive these services, a physician order is necessary. Once provided, the services will be billed (when possible) to insurance, then an invoice for the remainder will be billed to the family or Medicaid if applicable.
