Physical, occupational, and speech therapists work seven days a week to help residents regain functioning and increase mobility, strength, and independence with activities of daily living. Our therapists work with each person individually on care plans that have been designed in conjunction with his/her physician and/or orthopedic surgeon. As treatment progresses, we track improvement and discuss therapeutic goals with each person and his/her family. Most of the residents that are admitted to our facility for rehab are able to return home or back to their assisted living facilities after treatment.

As an adjunct to therapies, restorative nursing offers services that promote indepence via movement programs, range of motion exercises, and restorative dining. In addition, our therapists provide input to our Activity team to suggest activities that might help residents improve their functioning without even realizing that they’re in “treatment.” In this way, rehabilitation doesn’t stop when a resident leaves the therapy room—they can continue to improve as they enjoy lots of fun and interesting activities throughout their stay.

Often, residents with obesity find it difficult to locate a comfortable place to rehabilitate. For those residents with bariatric issues, we offer specialized beds, chairs, wheelchairs, and shower facilities.

Residents with dementia need a little extra help navigating the routines of daily life. Predictability, structure, and familiar faces help ease their confusion and anxiety, making their days easier and more enjoyable. Our Dementia Unit provides this environment. In addition, this unit, while not locked, is housed in a closed door area of the building. With a cozy dining room and a lovely patio, residents have a comfortable, friendly area that feels more like home.
